New York-based progressive/gothic metallers DESDEMON released their debut album entitled "Through The Gates" on July 6th, 2011 via Radtone Music. It is described in a press release as "an epic 13 track journey that far surpasses anything the band has done before." As with "The Awakening" EP, Gaetano DiFalco again has provided the masterful illustrations for the albums cover and artwork.

"Through The Gates" will feature guest appearances by Tim "Ripper" Owens (JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, CHARRED WALLS OF THE DAMNED, BEYOND FEAR), Amanda Somerville (AVANTASIA, SOMERVILLE/KISKE, HDK, EPICA), Sander Gommans (AFTER FOREVER, HDK, SOMERVILLE/KISKE) and Joe Stump (HOLYHELL)

2012 marks 10-year anniversary the career of Swiss folk metallers ELUVEITIE. To mark the occasion, the band has decided to re-record its entire first EP, "Vên", and remaster its debut album, "Spirit", and release these two sought-after collector's items as a two-CD bundle. This magnificent gift to the fans is entitled "The Early Years" and was released on August 17th via Nuclear Blast Records.

The first audio sample from "The Early Years" to be made available is a re-recorded version of the track "Lament" from "Vên". Check it out in the YouTube clip below.

The new version of "Vên" was recorded with producer Tommy Vetterli (CORONER, KREATOR) at his Newsound Studio.

Comented ELUVIETIE vocalist Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann: "'The Early Years' will give both old and new fans access to the very first steps in ELUVEITIE's
history. I can't believe it's been 10 years already! Speaking of that,
to celebrate our 10-year anniversary (2002-2012) we wanted to offer
you something special. Therefore we have decided to re-record the
tracks of our first EP, 'Vên'! We had a lot of fun putting those
songs on tape again — some of which we have been playing live to this
day and that have developed together with us over all these years."

HALLOWEEN released their sixth full length album entitled "Terrortory", on February 25th via Motor City Metal Records. The CD was also released on April 27th via Pure Steel Records.

"Where Is Michael?" was submitted to Rob Zombie for the 2007 remake of Halloween, but was rejected. "Darkside, Inside" was originally recorded on the 2003 compilation Tricks, Treats, and Other Tales from The Crypt. "Images Quite Horrible", "Not One" and "Say Your Prayers" were written by former guitarist Tim Wright while he was still in the band from 1990-1991. "Caught in the Webs" was one of the first songs that the band wrote (circa 1983).

Virtuoso guitarist and visionary composer STEVE VAI released their new full length album entitled "The Story Of Light", on August 14th via Favored Nations Records, the label VAI founded in 1999.

As expected, this mostly instrumental album is filled with dense production, soaring multi-layered guitar tones, and tight harmonies. It does offer some nice surprises. VAI covers Blind Willie Johnson’s "John The Revelator" with a gospel choir and Beverly McClellan. He also duets with singer-songwriter Aimee Mann on "No More Amsterdam" to great effect. And VAI gets in his share of familiar arena-rock workouts like "Velorum" and "Gravity Storm", and mellower compositions such as "Creamsickle Sunset".
