ELUVEITIE released their sixth full-length album entitled "Origins", on August 1st, 2014 via Nuclear Blast Records worldwide (except for England, Scotland and Ireland which will be released on August 4th, 2014 and on August 5th, 2014 in North America). 

The cover artwork for the CD was created by ELUVEITIE frontman Chrigel Glanzmann. The effort was once again recorded at New Sound Studio in Pfäffikon, a municipality in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland, with producer Tommy Vetterli (a.k.a. Tommy T. Baron; CORONER/ex-KREATOR guitarist).

Says Chrigel: "ORIGINS deals in depth with Celtic mythology, or, to be more precise, with aetiological tales from Gaul in particular. Hence we're facing strongly mythical as well as spiritual subjects on this album, topics which we have approached very scientifically and in cooperation with several scientists and diverse universities.

"Many aspects of Gaulish mythology and spirituality remain in the dark nonetheless, while others run through the theme like a golden thread — like this eminent, yet innominate god, for instance, of which the Gauls claimed to be direct descendants and which was compared to the Roman chtonic deity Dis Pater.

Today we cannot say which Gaulish god this was exactly. But according to all we know, it's likely that we're dealing with Sucellos here. Throughout space and time he appears over and over again — from very old spiritual customs of ancient Gaulish tribes in today's northern Spain all the way to later statues in today's Switzerland, France and elsewhere.

"The album cover of 'Origins' is designed after the hammer/club-shaped 'halo' of Sucellos, as seen on a statue, that was found in a shrine of a gallo-roman household in today's France. It was created under the scientific supervision of experts from the university of Zürich."

2012 marks 10-year anniversary the career of Swiss folk metallers ELUVEITIE. To mark the occasion, the band has decided to re-record its entire first EP, "Vên", and remaster its debut album, "Spirit", and release these two sought-after collector's items as a two-CD bundle. This magnificent gift to the fans is entitled "The Early Years" and was released on August 17th via Nuclear Blast Records.

The first audio sample from "The Early Years" to be made available is a re-recorded version of the track "Lament" from "Vên". Check it out in the YouTube clip below.

The new version of "Vên" was recorded with producer Tommy Vetterli (CORONER, KREATOR) at his Newsound Studio.

Comented ELUVIETIE vocalist Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann: "'The Early Years' will give both old and new fans access to the very first steps in ELUVEITIE's
history. I can't believe it's been 10 years already! Speaking of that,
to celebrate our 10-year anniversary (2002-2012) we wanted to offer
you something special. Therefore we have decided to re-record the
tracks of our first EP, 'Vên'! We had a lot of fun putting those
songs on tape again — some of which we have been playing live to this
day and that have developed together with us over all these years."

Swiss folk metallers ELUVEITIE released their new full-length album entitled "Helvetios", on February 10, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was recorded at New Sound Studio in Pfäffikon, a municipality in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland, with producer Tommy Vetterli (a.k.a. Tommy T. Baron; CORONER/ex-KREATOR guitarist). According to the band, Vetterli "record[ed] drums, guitars and vocals and also produc[ed] and mix[ed] the record. Most folk instruments and also vocals [were] recorded by Anna Murphy and Marco Jencarelli at the Soundfarm studios in Lucerne."

Commented ELUVEITIE vocalist Christian "Chrigel" Glanzmann: "The song 'A Rose For Epona' appears about in the middle of the storyline — so, it tells about the time when the gaulish war broke out already. The Helvetians decided to leave their homeland and migrate to the west coast of Gallia, to start a new life there. In the time the song tells about, many Helvetians had to face pretty much shattered hopes. And so does the protagonist, from whose viewpoint the song is written: A young gaulish woman. She was part of the helvetic migration, but after the battle of Bibracte, all hopes that she and her people would ever reach their new home were torn to pieces. Furthermore you can imagine: She probably had lost her husband on the battlefields of Bibracte and she had to face fact that she can be glad if their common newborn child would not be killed and she herself would be sold into roman slavery. To sum it up: Her situation was desperate. In this situation 'our' young gaulish woman despairs, can't accept her fate and turns to her goddess Epona... and accuses her for having forsaken her people. This is what the song expresses. On a historical note: 'Epona' was a gaulish goddess which was, among other things, in charge of taking care of horsemen and the cavallery. All over Gallia there were Epona temples where people traditionally offered up freshly cut roses or rose petals to their goddess."
