NERGARD released its long-awaited second full-length album entitled "A Bit Closer To Heaven", on June 12th, 2015. This is an album that have been rewritten three times and features 11 songs with 120 minutes of high quality melodic metal. 

"A Bit Closer To Heaven" is the second and last act of the "Memorial For A Wish" musical. The first act was released last year and received great reviews from all over the world. They say the second album is the difficult one but this album is ten levels above the first one. 

The CD was mixed and mastered on October 1st, 2014 for a tentative late 2014/early 2015 release.

Norwegian musician and composer Andreas Nergård released his debut full-length album entitled "Memorial For A Wish" on March 27th, 2013. The CD was recorded at the Trondheim Studio in Trondheim, Norway with producer Conor Patrick for release as two separate albums ("Act 1" and "Act 2").

"Memorial For A Wish"  will be released this spring through the Australian label Battlegod Productions.

The story of "Memorial For A Wish" is set in Dublin, Ireland, in 1890. A young man by the name of Peter O'Donnell is arrested and wrongfully accused of a burglary which he did not commit. After a short trial, he is sentenced to prison for twenty years. In desperation he is forced to leave his pregnant wife behind and live in solitude behind the prison walls. Twenty long years pass by and Peter is released from jail, only to find out that his beloved wife died many years ago while giving birth to their daughter. The friends he once had turn their backs on him and let him face the grief all alone. This eventually tears him apart. As the sorrow and despair become too much to handle, he ends up committing suicide.

A promo EP entitled "In The Beginning" was released in 2011 containing three tracks from "Memorial For A Wish", with special guest appearances by Ralf Scheepers (PRIMAL FEAR, GAMMA RAY), Tony Mills (TNT,SHY), Mike Vescera (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, LOUDNESS).  

A music video for the song "A Question Of God" from NERGARD, can be seen below. The song was co-written with legendary British singer Tony Mills (TNT, SHY), who also appears in the clip, which was filmed and edited by Sondre Sivertsen.
